From the Ukraine to Southsea, Fathers day, and Monday/

Here we are again folks, sorry for the lack of the daily journal yesterday "Sunday" but it was a very busy Fathers day yesterday, and an enjoyable evening on Saturday as well so here we are then to let you know how the weekend went,.

Saturday Evening

As I said in Saturdays Journal I had the opportunity to meet some very special People, well here are the Photographs of the People I met round at my Neighbour,s house.

In the first Photograph I am the Handsome chap at the back but I am outshone by 12 wonderful children from the Ukraine. these children are from the area affected by the Chernobyl Nuclear Disaster and are over here for a 4 week holiday arranged and organised by the Portsmouth and Hayling Island Link of the " Chernobyl Children,s Life Line' My Neighbour,s Chris and Kim are one of the Host families and I have the Pleasure of Supporting This worthwhile organisation.  I have added a link to the website to the top left of the main page of the blog

Sunday "Fathers Day"

So that brings me through to Sunday. It was a good night,s sleep Saturday and I got up at 9.00 am Sunday and looking forward to Going round to Gervase and Leanne,s later on this afternoon for a nice Roast dinner as Today is Fathers day. Unfortunately I never really saw much of my father as he was away at sea in the Royal Navy until 1948 and he passed away at the young age of 38 in 1953, but I always think of him on Fathers day.

The morning went pretty much as most Mornings do with the text and Phone call with Pauline, Breakfast, Facebook Etc and then Gervase phones about 11.00 to find out what time I will be going round to them , we agree on a time at about 1.45 so that is OK so I have time to watch a film "Scorcher" before getting ready for a taxi at 1.30 to take me to Gervase and Leanne,s.

Scorcher is a "Doomsday" movie made in 2002 and starring Mark Dacascos and Tamara Davies. anyway once the Movie was over I have a wash and shave and get dressed and then once the Taxi arrives I am off down to see Gervase.
Once Down at Gervase,s I have a coffee and then at about 2.00 Leanne,s dad "Dave" arrives and Leanne,s Mum Elaine arrives at about 2.15. so we are all there. we have a really nice dinner of Roast Chicken, Parsnips and Potatoes also Cauliflower, Broccoli, and a nice Swede and carrot mash, gravy and a Yorkshire Pudding. Desert was a nice "Summer fruit desert" I was absolutely full to the brim, Gervase and Leanne had the same apart from the chicken , they had a Quorn roast as they are both vegetarian. anyway we had a brilliant afternoon and Dave gave me a lift home about 7.00 in the evening.

Once I was back home I made a coffee, Phoned Pauline to let her know I was back home Ok, put up my Fathers day card from Gervase and leanne and also the presents and then collapsed into the recliner to watch an easy to view movie "Hairspray"

It just goes to show how tired I was it took me halfway through the film before I worked out what part '"John Travolta" was playing LOL. anyway I played around on facebook for an hour or so and then headed to bed at 11.00 and had a decent nights sleep.

Monday

And here we are on Monday and back to a normal run of the mill day, apart from this morning at 10.00 am Pauline has her Pre Op Assessment up at the QA Hospital at Cosham, Gordon will be taking her up at 9.30 so they will let me know when they are back out.

once I sent the text to Pauline I get some porridge for breakfast at about 10.00 and then I went round to gt the Morning paper, the weather is still pretty dull here but it is also warm so it was a nice walk round to get the paper and then once back home I settle down with a Peppermint tea and then get the crosswords done before deciding to watch some youtube videos on the smart TV.
Anyway I decided to watch some "Johnny Tillotson" videos going way back and that certainly brought back some memories of my youth.

Yummy Chicken Soup

While I am watching those Gordon Phones to say that all went well with Pauline and that they are on the way to visit her sister "Janet" so that is OK anyway at 1.00 I go for a lie down for an hour before going into the kitchen to get myself some Chicken soup and some Gluten free Cheesy Oat cakes for Lunch. and then once I have had that I get the vegetable prepared for tonight,s dinner and then into the Lounge with a coffee to watch some old episodes of "Diagnosis Murder"

Now I am watching Diagnosis Murder on the Alibi channel on Sky, and I have just seen the advert which means that I am contributing towards watching Diagnosis Murder as the the "Timeless Classics" on Alibi is being sponsored by Tenna Protective underwear, Knew there was a reason I buy "Tenna for Men"  as they say "When you got to go, you got to Go" LOL.
anyway it is now 3.10 and I have just about got todays journal finished , and it is at a decent time so I am going to get it posted and then I can settle down with the TV for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
