A trip to the Dentist today.

And hello to all you happy people, and here we are again at the start of another week and  today is the start of my dental treatment and I am not looking forward to it one little bit, I have never been a lover of dentists but over the last 18 months of Prednisolone and Methotrexate my teeth have taken a hammering and so there is a lot of dental work to be carried out starting today " Scary"

However back to the start of the day, As it is Monday I have no carer today so I have a lie in and get up at 8.30. I slept pretty well last night, woke a couple of times during the night but basically it was a good nights sleep.

Anyway once I am out of bed, I get some breakfast and a coffee and then I text Pauline to say that all is OK here and that Eileen and Chris will be down at 10.45 this morning to take me to the dentist, and Pauline phones Back to say that she and Gordon will be round at 11.00 to get the cleaning done for me and that she will also be taking her car to have its MOT Done at Mr Clutch which is just down the road from me.

Once Pauline is off the phone, I go and get a shave and get dressed and then settle down with the laptop and check out face book and my emails, it is not a nice day here today as it is a bit damp and misty as you can see from the live web cam photo taken at 9.25 this morning and it is now 10.15.

Once I have checked emails I go through the post, nothing of interest, No bills for a change, the only thing of importance was the paperwork that needs to be signed and returned with regards to my Adult social care assessment from last month so I get that signed and I can take that into the civic offices when I go down town with Pauline on Wednesday.

Anyway  I get back to Facebook and then at 10.50 Eileen and Chris arrive in their van to take me to the Dentist, So they come in for 10 minutes and just as we are about to leave at 11.00 o,clock Pauline and Gordon Arrive to get some cleaning done and also for Pauline to take her Car for its MOT at 12.00 o,clock, anyway off we go down to the Dental Surgery in Outram Road, about a 10 minute drive.

Once we get there, Chris drops me and Eileen off outside the surgery and then goes to park the little van, me and Eileen go and report into the waiting room, and then Chris comes in, After about 5 minutes the Nurse comes to get me and In I go, anyway all that the dentist did today was to take 5 X-Rays of the teeth/roots that need to come out and then did some plaque removal so that was not to bad, I have another appointment at the end of October when he will extract one of the roots and do some more cleaning.

 So Now we are back out and made the next appointment we head home,for a nice cup of coffee, that did not take long as it is just on 12.00 as we get home and Pauline is just leaving to take her car up to Mr Clutch for its MOT. I make some coffee,s and we all have a coffee and then Gordon just finishes of vacuuming the bedroom and then cleans the kitchen and bath room floor, and eileen and Chris make a move home. so everything is now spick and span, Pauline comes back at 2.00 and the car has passed its MOT so all is well, Pauline has a coffee and then She and Gordon Make a move back home and Pauline takes my dirty washing with her.

Once Pauline and Gordon are Gone I get my self some tinned sardines, with a small salad and then start to get this journal written and now it is 4.00 pm and I am going to get this journal finished for the day and then have a lie down for 30 minutes before making a coffee and watching Pointless on TV and then at 6.00 it will be time to get dinner ready for today, and dinner tonight is Chicken fillet with a nice winter veg stir fry.

Another Wednesday comes along.
I wake up to a happy song

I had my flu jab yesterday
And no reaction pleased to say.
Then last night went and saw my son

Is this a distant relative

not a bad nights sleep last night. Not as long as I was sleeping at the start of the week so I must have caught up with my busy couple of weeks, my cousin Maureen travels up to Heathrow Airport later this afternoon and they are flying back to Canada tomorrow, it was so nice seeing her and also enjoyed the family get together, I am hoping next year that it may be possible to travel over to Canada to see them and maybe other Maternal and Paternal Relations in Canada, but we will have to see how my treatment is going at that point.

Once I am out of Bed at 8.00 I get a coffee made and then into the lounge to watch the Breakfast news on BBC 1 and also to check out my emails and see who is around on facebook before Jo my carer arrives at 8.40, Jo is not happy about the weather as it is very showery and she is getting wet cycling between clients so we have to get her coat dried out a bit for her while she is getting me washed and groomed for the Lazy day ahead.

Once Jo has left I get some Porridge for breakfast and then Text Pauline to let her know all is OK and that I got the Photo,s she text to me last night from Weymouth. The Photo,s were taken at a pub that they went to with friends last night.

Anyway Pauline text back to say they are having a lie in this morning as they were up until 2.00 am this morning with friends chatting, I think that they have really got Hangovers LOL. anyway I watch a bit of TV and then take a walk round to the Tesco Express to get the morning Paper and then back home to get the crosswords done.

About 11.30 Gordon Phones to see if all is OK and to say that they are just about to go out to Weymouth to look around the shops, once gordon is off the phone I make a coffee and have a couple of Biscuits and watch some old episodes if Diagnosis Murder while doing a bit of Family history research online. then at 1.30 I go and get a couple of Poached eggs on toast for lunch.

`after lunch I go for a cat nap for 30 minutes and then the postman delivers the mail, he is running late, in amongst the post is an envelope from the Myositis support group, with the october flyer and the details of the 2013 conference which is being held at the Holiday Inn, Oxford. it is the 25th Anniversary Gala dinner and conference . the dinner is on Saturday the 20th July and the conference on Sunday 21st July.

As some of you Know I mentioned that after I had made the move into the flat and had got myself sorted I would be thinking about making a series of  short animated Myositis awareness movies. just to update you on how that is progressing, well I have just about got myself settled in now and settled on using "Stop Motion Animation" and  hope to start getting the story line and storyboard for the first one on the go next week, with a release date of probably March/April next year. but I will post regular updates in this daily Journal to let you know how it is progressing

It Had to Happen

And another good day to you all, well after my day being silly with my eating, I decided that I would just have a bowl of Chicken soup and herb dumplings for dinner last night, but even so I knew after yesterdays excursion to the Tenth Hole cafe that I would pay the price, and I was not wrong, I was awake until turned 1.00 am this morning with my cup and spill stomach and my acid reflux bubbling away still it was worth it

Anyway once I eventually dropped of to sleep, I slept through until 7.15 this morning so not to bad but the tummy is still a bit delicate this morning so need to be sensible today about what I eat anyway I got up at 8.00 and made a nice cup of tea and took that into the lounge with 5 Belvita breakfast Honey and Nut biscuits and a banana to watch the news and wait for Jo the carer to arrive.

Jo is a bit late arriving this morning and does not get here until about 9.10 and soon has me washed and groomed ready for my day ahead, once Jo has gone I text Pauline to let her know all is OK, and then Pauline phones back to say that she is booking a taxi for 10.30 to come and collect me and then up to the Hospital at Cosham for my Neurologist appointment.

once Pauline is off the phone I get a shave and get dressed and then settle down with the laptop for 30 minutes until pauline arrives about 10.40, and then we are off to the Hospital. We arrive at about 10.55 so as my appointment is for 11.15 we sit outside for 10 minutes as it is not a bad day here today, at least the sun is shining and at 10.15 we report to the out patients department to wait to see Dr Gibb. while we are waiting Pauline goes off to get a couple of coffees and a Daily Paper .

Although my appointment is for 11.15 it is nearly 12.00 when we I get called in by Dr Gibb, He is pleased to see that I am getting on Ok with the medications but feels it is time to come off of the Calcichew as I am now down on a low dose of Prednisolone, which I will be carrying on with that dose, also the 15 mg of Methotrexate weekly will stay the same and also the folic acid so that is all the med,s I will be on apart from the Lansoprazole and the Lactulose which is to do with the Digestive system. My Blood work,s from last week are all OK so he does not want to see me until January.

Barium Swallow Test

The other things we discussed with Dr Gibb was about starting Physio and so I am going to contact my Speech Therapist next week at the Turner Centre in Milton to see about some kind of Physio and Occupational therapy and Also Dr gibb wants them to arrange a Barium swallow test as he is pleased with the way my eating has progressed and needs to have the report on how the Dysphagia is progressing.

Pulmonary Function Test

As well as the Barium swallow test he also wants me to arrange for an appointment to have a Pulmonary function test to see how my lungs have improved as I am breathing a lot better now than I was 15 months ago when I was diagnosed, so he has given me the form and I can arrange that appointment here today for next week. so that is Ok.

Podiatrist

I also need to get in contact with my GP at the Eastney health centre to arrange for them to refer me for an appointment with the Podiatry Department to have my feet treated, I had them done last year but they need doing again as I have a couple of hard ingrowing callouses on the bottom of my left foot.

So there we go, all in all a successful day all round lots of appointments to make and along with my dental treatment coming up it looks like I am in for a busy and interesting October. anyway once we are out of the hospital we get the taxi back home, he drops us off at the tesco express, as we need to get a couple of bits of shopping and then we get indoors and get the coffee made. Me and pauline sit out in the back yard with the coffee and a sausage roll and then once we are finished Pauline makes her way back home.

Once Pauline has gone I go and have a lie down for 30 minutes and then get the laptop and get this journal written. As I said it has been an interesting day today, at least it all seems to be going in the right direction, so I will now get his Journal posted before Pointless starts on the TV. and once I have watched that I will then get dinner ready and then an evening of TV. so until tomorrow I will say Tatty Bye.

A Wet and Windy Sunday.

And a jolly good Sunday to you all and my wish for today is that you all have better weather than we have here on the south coast of the UK. it really does have the feel of winter about it today, although saying that the temperature is not to bad out of the wind and rain.

Well I must admit to having a lie in this morning. I stayed up until 11.30 last night watching the film "Ghost" with Patrick Swayze I have lost count of the number of times I have seen that film and still enjoy watching it whenever it is on TV.

so after a late night last night, I had a lie in this morning until 9.00 am before getting up and going into the kitchen to get a coffee and go into the lounge to text Pauline and to get some breakfast. The weather has really taken a turn for the worse today and the wind and rain is pretty awful and there is the rumblings of thunder in the distance, anyway it is nice and snug indoors so that is OK.

My Favourite Yoghurt

Pauline phones back to say that she and gordon had a lie in this morning and are getting ready to take Misty out for her morning walk, hope they remember to wear their Wellington boots. anyway once Pauline is off the phone I get some Belvita Breakfast biscuits for breakfast and also a Banana and a Lemon Curd Yoghurt.

Once breakfast is over I settle down with the computer to check emails, and to go and see who is around on Facebook, I also have a phone call from my cousin Maureen and we have a chat and then Gervase Phones to say that he will be round at about 1.00 and we will go up to the Hyundai dealer to test drive the i10 he is going to buy and then we can go shopping at Sainsburys.

Gervase arrives at 1.10 and we go up to Farlington and have a test drive in the Hyundai i10 that he will be getting it is a 2011 model on a 61 plate with just 8000 miles on the clock. it is carbon grey in colour and he will be collecting it next Saturday Morning.

We then go over to Sainsburys in Farlington to get the shopping, although it is still dull and dismal it has stopped raining for the moment so that makes a change.

once we have got everything we then make our way back home and once indoors I get the kettle on and make a nice coffee and then get the shopping unpacked, gervase stays for a bit but he then goes on his way home to leanne and I watch a couple of episodes of "Darling Buds of May" before getting this Journal written and then thinking about getting dinner on, I am cheating today and having a ready meal from Sainsburys and it looks very tasty.

Tonight it is a wiltshire ham gratin, which is Potato, wiltshire ham and green beans in a cheddar cheese sauce. anyway it is now 5.25 pm and time to get this journal finished and posted and then get dinner cooked as I missed lunch today because of lying in this morning and having a late breakfast so only had a couple of cheese crackers with some cheese this afternoon. so until tomorrow I will say Bye Bye.

A Gardening Monday

And here we are at the start of another Week, Monday is upon us again.................

It was a funny night last night, the first episode of series 3 of Downton abbey was on from 9.00 until 10.30. it was excellent as usual and looks like series 3 is going to be the best one so far, I enjoyed series 1, I was disappointed with series 2 but it looks like series 3 is going to be really good.

Once Downton finished I went to bed bit it was a very restless night, I woke at least twice during the night, once at 2.30 and I was wide awake and went on to face book for 30 minutes, and then woke again about 5.30 and then slept through until 8.30, Good job I do not have a carer come on Mondays, so I had a lie in until 9.00 and then got up to have some breakfast, before texting Pauline and then getting sorted ready for when Gordon comes round about 11.00 to give my flat its weekly clean.

Gordon arrives as usual and we have a coffee and a chat and then he makes a start on the cleaning of the flat, I take a walk round to tesco express and get a morning paper and then once back home sort out the clean bed linen , as Gordon is has had the instructions from Pauline, to change the bed linen and then to take the weeks washing back to Pauline, they really are true friends.

 Once gordon has got the flat up together he is ready to vacuum through and wash the Bathroom and kitchen floor so we decide that we would have another coffee and some Lemon Shortbread biscuits from Sainsburys and then while gordon was doing the floors I sat out in the yard and tidied up the garden borders,

 Once Gordon has finished he is off back home to Pauline with the washing and also a letter to my Solicitor which Pauline will take in for me, it is now 1.15 and time for a lie down for half an hour before thinking about lunch. At 2.00 I decide to get a nice bowl of Chicken soup, as I had a big breakfast and also biscuits through the morning, and I have to leave room for a nice Sainsburys Bacon and leek Pasta Bake.

So that takes us up to the present time, As well as taking me shopping twice a week and also doing my Laundry, pauline also does other bits and pieces for me, and here is a picture I have taken of some cushion covers she has made for me with the help of Charlie the cat.

So there we are, that is how my Monday has been, I also phoned my Speech Therapist Dawn, and I am going to discuss Physio therapy with my Neurologist Dr Gibb, when I see him next week and then I will Phone Dawn back and see what we can arrange with Physio and OT if Necessary, Also to make an appointment for the dietician and also with a Podiatrist.

It is now time to settle down and read the Paper and get the crosswords done before it is time for Pointless at 5.15, and then getting dinner at 6.30. and then a relaxing evening as tomorrow is a busy day with Blood test and shopping down the city centre, so until tomorrow I will say cheerio.
