Its another very Sunny and warm day today.

Good morning one and all and welcome to another day of summer here on the South coast. Had a good day yesterday and slept pretty well last night, but it was ever so warm so when I woke and made my coffee this morning at 6.30 I had to open the bedroom window and let some air in while I lazed there listening to the local radio, and of course once I had opened the window who should come a visiting, yep thats right the cat from next door.
anyway once the cat had been fussed over he was back out the window, so I get up and dressed and make a cup of tea and some porridge for breakfast and then went out into the lounge to watch the breakfast news on the TV while I had my breakfast and then I sent the morning text to Pauline.
Pauline phones back later to say that they are all Ok and that they also had a bit of a restless night as it was so warm, anyway once I have spoken to Pauline I get on to the laptop to catch up on facebook and also to check out my emails.

It is a really nice summers day out there today so I decide to get the rollator out and have a walk up to Devonshire avenue to check out the new "Spar" shop that has opened in the converted old "Devonshire Arms Pub" So Off I go and I also get my Paper and some milk from there as well. I enjoyed the walk so that was Ok and then I head back around the block back home.
The Historic Devonshire arms , now converted into a spar convenience  store
Anyway once back home I make a coffee and then take my paper along with the ipad out into the back garden where I sit in the shade of the Sun shade and enjoy a couple of hours out in the fresh air reading the paper and doing the crosswords while listening to a youtube video of the 1970 Frank Sinatra concert at the "Royal Festival Hall" on my ipad.

1970 Sinatra concert at the Royal Festival Hall
It is very nice sat out in the garden under the sun shade and I spend a good 2 hours out there and also have a nice cheese sandwich for lunch out there as well, what you might call a "Bespoke Picnic"
Coffee, Paper and Ipad. what more do you need

Really will have to get the shrubs trimmed back a little bit
well I stayed out in the garden until about 2.00 when I went back indoors to get the vegetable prepared for tonight,s dinner and then went for a lie down until 3 when I got back up and went into the lounge to get this Journal written, I phone Gordon and speak to him and Pauline, they are also out in the garden so they sent me a couple of Photo,s of there garden , it is a lot bigger than mine. so here are two Photo,s of Pauline and Gordon,s Garden.

well that is about it for today, nothing very exciting, just a nice relaxing and restful day today, so as it is now 5.40 I will get this Journal Posted and so until tomorrow I will say.........................

A lovely day for a walk in the park

A lift home with Dave
And here we are again on Freaky Friday "Whoo Hoo Methotrexate day again", it is such a nice day today that I decided to leave it until after lunch to take the Methotrexate, that way I can enjoy the morning . I had a good nights sleep last night after a good day shopping and also an evening down with Gervase and Leanne. Leanne,s dad "Dave" was there as well and he gave me a lift home at about 9.15 so That was nice of him.

Is it that time already
Anyway as I said I had a good nights sleep and woke once during the night to use the toilet and then slept through until 7.00 am, It was very warm during the night anyway once I was awake I went and made a coffee and then got back into bed after opening te window and lazed listening to Radio solent until I got up at 8.30, Made another coffee which I took into the lounge where I sent the morning text to Pauline and then settled down with the morning Breakfast news on Tv and checked out my emails and facebook on the laptop.

Pauline phones to say that all is Ok with her, Gordon has gone to do a couple of hours work this morning and also her sister Fran and Brother in law Colin are going in to see her later this morning. anyway once I have spoken to Pauline I get some Gluten free Chocolate star cereal for breakfast and then watch the TV for an hour until 10.15 when I decide to take a walk with the rollator round to the paper shop to get my paper and then down to Milton park as it is a nice sunny morning, I can walk a bit further and with more confidence with the rollator. Milton park is a nice local park and one of the "Green Spaces" within a very congested and heavily populated city.

3 photos, taken Inside the entrance to Milton park.
Looking down the tree lined path in Milton Park
it is very peaceful here in the park today the air is very still and apart from a couple of people out walking the dogs and a few mums with their children in the play area it is a very pleasant place to be.
The Milton Lawn Bowling club "Club house" in the park.
it is so very easy just to walk around the park with the rollator, and it gets me out of the house and away from the TV and computer for a while, but I have made sure that I have my hat on to protect me from the sun which even at this time of the morning is very warm, but at least there is lots of shade from the trees. anyway I walk around the perimeter to the Milton hall tea shop where I get a coffee and a piece of cheesecake with whipped cream,
"Yum" "Yum" Naughty but nice.
Well that went down a treat, it was very tasty and it was nice sitting and watching the people going by, anyway once I had rested I carried on my walk around the park

well Once I had covered most of the park I decided that I needed to head home as my right hip was starting to play up, so it was out onto Goldsmith avenue to head homewards where I get a coffee and read the paper.

Victorian houses on one side and the trees of the park on the other side of  Goldsmith Avenue
Once Home I settle down to read the paper before going for a lie down at 1.00 before getting myself a bacon and cheese omelette for lunch and then after preparing the vegetable for dinner tonight and washing up I take the laptop and a coffee into the garden to get todays Journal started.
Out in the garden to get the journal started.
I spent about half hour in the garden before going back indoors as I do not want to be out in the heat for too long otherwise my chest becomes tight, so if the wether is going to get to hot and dry I will have to contact the doctor to renew my inhaler prescription. anyway while indoors Gordon arrives for a coffee and a chat for 20 minutes and then heads back home to Pauline and I get this journal finished.
well it is now 4.20 and "A touch of Frost" started on the TV at 3.45 so I am going to get this journal posted and then settle down to watch the rest of it, so until tomorrow I will say...............................

Do not upset the staff in Morrisons when shopping.

And here we are at Thursday and today is Shopping day down town with a difference. as you know Pauline always takes me down town on a Tuesday and Thursday to go shopping, but this week Pauline was in hospital having her Thyroid operation, so there was no shopping trip and today Gordon is taking us as he is off work this week to keep Pauline in check after her Operation.
Behave yourself Pauline
Anyway after the normal morning ritual, I have a phone call from Pauline to say that she is not feeling to bad today, and that her and Gordon will be round to collect me about 10.30 and we will go down to Morrisons to get the shopping, as we are going straight there and back in the car with Gordon I will take the Rollator and leave the wheelchair at home, so we will see how I get on with that . So I need to go and get washed and dressed and ready for when Pauline and gordon arrive

Getting Ready to go out shopping.
True to there word the "Gruesome Twosome " AKA Pauline and Gordon arrive at 10.40 and we get the rollator into the car and and we go down to the Morrison store in the victory retail park in Portsmouth city Centre. It is not the easiest of places to get to, as usually Pauline and I go down to the precinct first and then we walk with me in the wheelchair to morrisons , anyway we get there and then we are into the store to get the shopping done. Me with the Rollator and Gordon with the trolley.
I hear that Gordon likes big Melons
Anyway it was a good hour shopping today, it went well with the rollator but was really tired at the end, it was probably that it was like a new found freedom as I was able to do my shopping independently which meant that Pauline and gordon kept looking to see where I was as I was up and down the aisle,s like a marathon runner.
One day Morrisons the next the World
This is the one I want.
Anyway It was at the fish counter that I realized that the some of the staff have not got a sense of humour, they need to lighten up and enjoy life. The fish counter in Morrisons and I usually have a laugh and a joke with the regulars as they have got to know me as we go in shopping once a week since they opened, but today the regular staff must be on holiday, anyway there is large signs on the counter stating that they will prepare any fish that I want and prepare it the way I want it

So anyway I get my normal order of a Fresh sea bass fillet and also a nice Dover Sole Fillet and then ask if I can have a Catfish fillet stuffed with sun dried tomato and Parsley.  to which he replied that they don,t do that to which I replied well your signs say you do, Poor lad, no sense of humour which was totally different to the reaction I got from our checkout assistant who does know us who was in stitches and could not stop laughing when I said that I nearly went to Asda to get my toilet rolls today as they were on special offer and were advertised as "finger piercing good" LOL. I really must behave myself but then again why should I.

Once we had got the shopping and paid for it we put it in the car and then went into morrisons cafe for a coffee and lunch before heading back home, once we were home we put the shopping away and then I made coffee,s and we had a chat before Pauline and Gordon went back home. It was about 1.30 when they left so I had a lie down for an hour until 2.30 when I got up and prepared the vegetable for tonight,s dinner and then into the lounge to watch "The Royal" and "A Touch of Frost" while I get todays shortened Journal written and Posted, I have kept it short today as rushing around with the rollator has tired me out and the legs are aching like mad.
The "Royal" a Medical Drama ITV 2003 - 2011 87 episodes
A "Touch of Frost" a crime drama ITV 1992 - 2010  42 episodes
Well it is now 4.40, Gervase has just phoned for a chat, he is just on his way to the train station on his way home from work, so I will now get this journal posted and then settle down with the TV and facebook before it is time to get dinner at 6.00. so until tomorrow I will say good bye

Elvis has left the Building " well Pauline has anyway"

Yes Folks Pauline was discharged from the Queen Alexandra hospital in Portsmouth this morning after undergoing her Thyroid operation yesterday .
The Surgeon said that the operation was a total success and that they took out the nodule and only had to remove half the Thyroid, and that she is not required to take any further medication at this point in time. her Calcium levels were OK this morning so they discharged her, and she will see her consultant surgeon in 4 weeks time. so good news for her and Gordon and also for my ever growing pile of laundry.
Get Better soon Pauline
Gordon kindly took me up to the hospital yesterday evening to see Pauline and I took a photo of her sitting up and chatting to us all, Her sister Fran was up there as well as her nephew Stewie and fran asked Gordon to make sure he sorted out Pauline,s pillows before we left, so here is the proof that he did as he was told.

Anyway after we had spent a couple of hours up at the Hospital we made our way home at about 7.40. Gordon dropped me at home and then made his way home so that was nice to see Pauline. While we were at the hospital Gordon and I had a nice costa coffee in the cafeteria while we left pauline for 20 minutes so she could eat her dinner in peace.
Shop and cafeteria at Queen Alexandra Hospital.
Once I was back indoors last night I got my dinner on to cook for 30 minutes while I watched Emmerdale which I had recorded, and then after dinner I got the washing up done and settled with a coffee to watch the TV until 10.30 when I went to bed and listened to the radio for half an hour before getting off to sleep. It did not take long to get off to sleep as it has been a long and tiring day as I was awake early yesterday morning.

Time to go to sleep
It was a decent nights sleep last night, woke a couple of times during the night but then dropped back off to sleep almost immediately. And then I slept through until about 7.30 this morning when I get up and go into the kitchen to make a coffee which I take back to bed and lie there for an hour listening to the Julian Clegg show on Radio Solent.
The First coffee of the day
I drag myself out of bed at 8.30 and go and get a cup of tea and then  into the lounge where I take my Lansoprazole before firing up the laptop and checking out my emails and facebook I stay on the laptop until 9.30 catching up with the facebook games and then get myself some porridge for breakfast and take my 10 mg of Prednisolone, which I take every other day. once I have had breakfast I wash up and then get dressed and head round to get my daily paper at the local Tesco Express.
A Daily Newspaper seller
Once I have got my daily paper I head back home and settle down in the recliner to read it, I am having trouble with my legs being very achey today so hopefully the prednisolone will soon  sort them out otherwise I will take some paracetamol later on. about lunch time gordon texts me to say that he is back home with Pauline and that she is OK so that is good , she is probably glad to be back in her own home with Gordon and Misty and Charlie the dog and cat.

I get myself some baxters chicken soup for lunch at 1.30 and then at 2.00 I go for a lie down for an hour or so and also take a couple of Paracetamol, to ease the pain in the right hip, at 3.00 I go into the kitchen and get the vegetable prepared for tonight,s dinner and then I settle down to get todays journal written and posted.
Tonight,s Dinner

Well that is about it for today it is now 4.50 so I am going to get this journal posted for today and then relax for the rest of the evening, not forgetting to get dinner at about 6.30 it will be roast chicken with Potato, Broccoli and Cauliflower tonight. anyway I will post this now so until tomorrow I will say Tatty bye.

Its another dull, cold and wet day again on the south coast.

♫ ♫ ♫ I'm Singing in the Rain, Just singing in the rain ♫ ♫ ♫
♫ ♫ ♫ What a Glorious feeling, I'm hap, hap, happy again ♫ ♫ ♫

Well that is what the song says, but all I can say is...........

Rain Rain Go Away, Come back another day

After a really warm weekend and the start of July our normal british summer makes a comeback.

Well it is the start of another day, and I have had a decent nights sleep, I was awake at 5.30 for the visit to the bathroom, and then went back to bed again and dozed on and off until I decided that I would get up at 8.30 and after making a coffee went into the lounge to send a text to Gordon. Gordon phones back to say that he had taken Pauline up to the Hospital at 6.30 this morning so she could get booked in for her Thyroid op which was scheduled for 8.30 so he will let me know later how she has got on it is a 2 to 3 hour operation and then she will be in recovery before going up to a ward sometime this afternoon.
Q.A. Hospital at Cosham, Portsmouth.
Once i had spoken to Gordon I get some Chocolate stars for breakfast before checking out my emails and facebook on the laptop, once I have done that I make another coffee and then have a shower and get dressed before heading round to the tesco express to get my daily paper and some milk. It seem strange not going out shopping down town today like we usually do on a Tuesday, anyhow once I have got the paper I head back home and settle down to read the paper and do the crossword before getting myself some Gluten free Red Lentil and bacon soup for lunch with a couple of crisp bread.

Gluten Free Lentil and Bacon Soup
well once I have had lunch I wash up and then go for a lie down at 1.30 for an hour, Gordon Phones to say that he has phoned the hospital and Pauline is on her way from recovery to a ward so he will phone back at 2.00 and then he will probably go up and visit her and will let me know later how she is, so hopefully all has gone well.

Well I have a lie down for an hour and then make a coffee before going into the lounge to get todays journal written, I have a phone call from my sister-in-law and we have a chat for 15 minutes and then I get todays Journal written.

it is now 3.50 and gordon has just rung to say that Pauline is up in the ward and 'Chattering" so he is going to pick me up later on and take me up to see her
Peek a boo I can see you
well there we are then people not such an exciting day today I am afraid. but it is now 4.05 s I am going to get this journal posted for today and then get ready for going to see Pauline later on so Until Tomorrow I will say Tatty Bye.

The first day of July.

Yes folks the beginning of another month and today the.....................

Yes that is correct it is 2 years today that I started this Daily journal and apart from the odd time when I was either in Hospital or some other reason I have written it every day and today is issue number......................................

Yes 705 pages of pure boredom LOL. seriously though I have great fun writing about my life since the diagnosis of Dermatomyositis so this is the start of the third year so hang on for the ride.

Last night was a good nights sleep, I did not get to bed until about 11.30 as I stayed up watching some old repeats of "I'M Alan Partridge" starring Steve Coogan a TV series from 1997 - 2002.
"I'M Alan Partridge" TV Series 1997 - 2002 starring Steve Coogan
On the Laptop
anyway I went straight of to sleep last night and although I woke about 4.00 am for the bathroom I slept through until about 7.15 when I got up and made a coffee which I took back to bed and lazed around listening to the radio until I got up at 8.30. once Up I made a coffee which I took into the lounge and then sent the morning text to Pauline. before checking out my emails and Facebook on the laptop.

Gluten Free Chocolate Stars
Pauline phones back and all is Ok with them, She has her sister Fran and Nephew Stewie going down to see her This morning and also Gordon is coming round to do the monday cleaning for me at about 10.30 and he will also be bringing the rollator round that they got for me in Weymouth, so I get some Gluten Free Chocolate star cereal for breakfast and then get myself washed and dressed for when Gordon arrives.

Well once I am washed and dressed I settle down with the computer to catch up on some facebook games until gordon arrives. It is a very warm and sunny day today and It is nice to have the window open, gordon arrives at about 10.20 Just as I have made a coffee so he must have known it was coffee time, he gets the Rollator out of the car and it is a different one to the one he sent the photo,s of from Weymouth, it is a more up market one but there is not a lot of difference apart from the brakes, This one is a Days Model 104 and normal retail value is about £80.00 and Gordon got it Second hand from Sue Ryder charity shop in Weymouth for £6.00. "Bargain"
The Rollator in my back yard
Anyway I make a coffee for Gordon and then after we have had a chat Gordon starts the cleaning and I take out the rollator for a test drive, Must get an "in Seat Stereo system for it" anyway I need to get my paper and decide to go down to the co-op in Winter road as t is a bit further than the tesco express and I can see how I get on with it, well that was a real treat as I feel a lot more confident with using that than a Walking cane and also it means I can go further afield
The Co-op Winter Road (stock photo)
anyway I get my daily paper and then take a nice walk home, gordon is doing well with the cleaning, and he is nearly ready for another coffee before getting the floors done, so I make the coffee and then settle with the paper until gordon has finished the cleaning. once he has finished we have a chat and then he ,makes his way back home to Pauline.
Come on Gordon, Get a "grip"
an afternoon catnap
So I now have a nice clean and tidy flat for another week, once gordon has left I read the paper until 1.00  and then I get some Scrambled egg and a couple of slices of bacon for lunch, before going for a lie down at 2.00 for a cat nap. at 2.45 I am back up and in to the kitchen to get the lunchtime washing up done and then into the lounge with a cup of fruit tea to get todays journal written.

Ok so it is now 4.50 and the sun is shinning and the sky is blue and I am going to spend an hour in the back yard before I prepare dinner so I am going to get this journal posted and so until tomorrow I will say  bye Bye
