The Thursday Shop.

Early Morning coffee

And here we are again then my happy people, another exhilarating Thursday, It was not a bad nights sleep again last night, not as good as tuesday night but still OK, got off to sleep about 11.30 ish, woke about 1.30 and then back off to sleep and woke again at 6.45. so put on the radio, made a coffee and lazed in bed until 7.45 when I got up, and made another coffee and into the lounge to watch the breakfast news on the TV.

Not a lot of interesting news at the moment, one item that took my attention is that David Cameron our Prime Minister is going to announce that Great Britain has come out of a double dip recession, unfortunately he has not told that to my bank balance, as prices seem to be increasing at an alarming rate.

Anyway, at about 9.35 Jo my Carer arrives, it is her last day with the care company as Jo has found herself another job , she is going on holiday and then when she returns she is starting her new Job. Jo has been a good carer and will I am sure be missed by her clients and I wish her well in her new job, anyway it will be interesting over the next few days to see who I get as my new carer and at what time they will arrive (If at all). anyway jo soon gets me washed and groomed and is then on her way on her trusty Bike.

Once jo has left I get some Porridge for breakfast and then text Pauline to let her know all is OK, Pauline phones back to say that she will text me when she books the taxi ti let me know what time she will be picking me up from home to go shopping down town, so I then Phone the doctors to make an appointment for 4 weeks time to follow up on yesterday, as I forgot to do it when we left yesterday and then I get the laptop up and running and check out emails and Facebook.

Pauline texts me to say that she has booked a taxi for 11.30 so as it is now 10.45 I need to go and get dressed and ready for when Pauline arrives. once I have got shaved and changed, I get the wheelchair ready, Pauline arrives with the taxi at 11.40 so we get the wheelchair into the Taxi and off we go Down to Commercial road.  Once there we unload the wheelchair and our first stop is the Superdrug store.

We have a look round superdrug and then make our way to Boots the Chemist via a short trip through "Wilkinsons" where we get a couple of items, anyway once we are at boots, we take the prescription in from yesterday and I also get a couple of items, chat up the Cashiers and then we go up to greggs/bakers oven to get a coffee and a Sausage roll.

Having Catnap

 we sat outside to have our snack and then made our way over to Morrisons at the victory retail park to get the weekly shop, once we had finished we then phoned for a Taxi to take us back home, once Home we got the shopping put away and then as it was 3.15 Pauline made her way back home and I went for a cat nap for half an hour.

Well it is now 5.45 and Gervase has just phoned to say he is on the way round to see me so I will now need to get this journal finished and posted before Gervase arrives so until tomorrow I will say Bye Bye.

Phone GP Surgery

Howdy Doozy Folks and here we are on another Wednesday, It has been a funny few days as I mentioned before I have been having a lot of Constipation problems lately anyway Phoned the GP surgery this morning at 9.15 and so am waiting on a return call from a doctor.

A good sleep

Well I must say that the new Pillow worked wonders last night as I had one of the best night,s sleep that I have had for a long time, went to bed at 10.30 listened to the radio until 11.30 went to sleep after I turned it off and slept through until 6,45 so well pleased with that,

C-C-C-C-Cold

The weather this morning is much the same as it has been all week, but it is supposed to change tomorrow?Friday and a cold snap is on the way but along with the cold will come some sunshine so just hope they are right.

Anyway out of bed at 7.45. coffee made and into the lounge to watch some Morning News on the TV and to await the arrival of Jo my carer, Jo arrives at 8.40 and soon has me washed and groomed, and then she is on her way, It is jo,s last day tomorrow and she is sad to be leaving but looking forward to her new job, so that is Good.

Once Jo has gone I get some Breakfast and then phone the GP Surgery and then Phone Pauline to let her Know that I have phoned the surgery and will let her know what is happening after the doctor phones back. anyway the Doctor phones back about 10.10 and  makes an appointment to come in and see my family GP at 12.15 today.

So I phone Pauline and let her know. She said Colin and fran will be going round to her instead of me today at 1030 for an hour so she will get Colin to drop her off here when he leaves to pick up stewie and she will take me up to the Surgery.

Once I have spoken to Pauline I check Face book and Emails and then get a Shave ready for seeing the doctor and then at 11.40 Pauline arrives and has a coffee, I phoned earlier to book a taxi and that arrives at 12.00 and so we get in and off to the Eastney Health Centre for my 12.15 appointment, I have taken one of the Myositis books I got from the Myositis Support group meeting in Southampton for my GP as he has shown an interest in my DM, it is only the second case he has seen in 30 years of practice.

we go in to see Dr Tyrell at  about 12.40, he is very pleased with the book and is going to keep it in the health centre and pass it round to the other doctors, anyway he looks at my medical records and tests and listens while I describe how I feel and all my symptoms and after many other things he is of the opinion, and also I do agree with him as it is something that i was toying with is that my problem is most likely to be linked to the long term taking of the Lansoprazole as Constipation, Flatulence, Tiredness, Sore Throat are all linked to the side affects so we are reducing the Lansoprazole from 30 mg to 15 mg, and adding in the "Laxido" to be taken once or twice daily, and he is hopeful that I will see the benefits within a few days.

Anyway we are going to try that for 30 days and then review it after that. Once out of the Health centre we go into the Chemist opposite to get the prescription filled and then get a taxi home.

Well the Taxi arrives and we get it to take me home and then Pauline carry,s on to her place, Once in doors I make a coffee and then have some chicken soup for lunch and go for a lie down.

Well that is it for today folks, it is now 4.50 and time to get this journal posted and then an hour of pointless before getting dinner cooked and settling for the evening, sorry it is such a short journal but it has not been the best of days for me today so until tomorrow, tatty bye.

And here we are again on another Tuesday, How fast the weeks seem to fly by, again the weather is not that clever today but at least it is not as misty today and it is also dry and mild, although rather dull but ok for going down to the City centre for a little bit of shopping today.

Morning Coffee

 Today I will be going down to the city centre with Pauline to get a little bit of shopping, not got much food shopping to get but I need a new Pillow for the bed and also have to pick up a book that I ordered from Waterstones. so at least it is going to be dry today.
It was a decent nights sleep last night although the back is aching a bit this morning, but apart from that all is OK, woke at 6.45 this morning and got up at about 7.45 and made the morning coffee and into the lounge.

Anyway as usual Jo my carer is back today, she arrives at 8.40 and soon has me washed and groomed. she is a bit sad as it is her last week working for the care agency and her last day is on Thursday, she has been a good carer and I will be sorry to see her go, anyway we will see what happens over the next couple of weeks.
once Jo has left I text pauline and she phones back to say that all is OK and that she will book a Taxi for 11.00 to come and collect me and then we will be off down to the city centre.

Getting Ready to go down Town

Once I have spoken to Pauline I get the laptop up and running and check out facebook and also my emails, and then I watch a bit of morning TV until it is 10.15 and then it is time to have a shave and get dressed ready for Pauline to arrive, Pauline sends a text at 10.55 to say she is on the way so I get the wheelchair out side the flat ready for when the taxi arrives with Pauline, we then get the wheelchair into the Taxi and off down to the city centre.

Once down the city centre we get the Taxi to drop us off at the back of Boots the chemist in the city precinct and then we go into the nationwide before going down to waterstones to pick up the book I ordered, I have ordered a book "Anti-inflammatory diet for Dummies" as I am looking to see what foods are recommended.

On first glance it seems that it should give me the information that I need anyway, the next stop is Barclays Bank and then Into Debenham,s to have a look at new Pillows, not Paying the prices they want so it is over to British Home Stores and see what they have, there prices are far better and I get a very nice Orthopaedic Pillow so that should do me, it was only £14.00 so a decent Price.

Once we have got that we make our way through the Cascade shopping arcade to Marks and Spencer,s where we get the shopping that we need, As I will be going down to see Gervase and Leanne this evening for an hour or so I get a ((((mice))) M&S Cottage pie with Cauliflower Cheese, Carrot and Peas ready meal so that will be easy to do.

Well that is about it then, Once we are out of the cascades we go into boots the chemist to get a couple of items and then once back outside we Phone for a taxi to take us home, once indoors we get the shopping put away and then we have a coffee before Pauline makes her way back home and I go for a lie down for 30 minutes before starting to write todays Journal.

It's another dull Monday in Sunny Southsea.

Yes that is correct folk,s it is another Mundane Monday here in "Sunny Southsea", The clouds are shinning Brightly through the mist and murk drifting in off the Sea. here are two Photo,s taken from the live webcam showing the deterioration of the weather between 8.00 am this Morning and 3.40 this afternoon (Now)

So as you can see, it has been a very dull and dismal day today, not a day for going out and galavanting around town, so it looks as though it will be a day indoors on the computer today, lots of silly cartoons and some sensible family history research really. Talking about silly cartoons her is another "Myo Man Dreams" cartoon.

Coffee Time

Anyway back to the reality of the day, I slept well again last night and woke at 3.30 and then slept through until 7.15. lazed until 8.30 as I have no carer today and then thought I had better get up and dressed as Gordon will be coming around about 10.30 - 11.00 to do a bit of Flat cleaning for me, so into the kitchen to get the Morning Coffee and then in to watch the morning News on TV and also to let Pauline know that I am up.

Once I have Spoken to Pauline I settle down to have a coffee and some Belvita oat,s and honey breakfast biscuits and a banana + a yoghurt before settling down to check out face book and also check my emails, once that is done I start work on the next "Myo Man" cartoon before Gordon arrives at about 10 45. so we have a chat and a coffee before he gets started, he has brought my Laundry from Pauline, so I get that put away and then take a walk round to the Tesco express to get the Morning Paper.

Well Once I am back from the shop with the paper I keep out of Gordon,s way as he is busy with the cleaning, and check out the local news paper on line. It was Trafalgar Day yesterday and there was a ceremony held on the deck of HMS Victory at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard  where a wreath was lade at the spot where Lord Nelson was fatally shot during the Battle of Trafalgar.

That was a good Morning so far and gordon has only got the Kitchen and bathroom floors to wash and then he is done so we decide that we will have a coffee and a Morrisons "Gooey treacle tart" before he does them as once he has finished he will be off back home to Pauline.

Once gordon had gone I decided it was time to get a light lunch before having a lie down for 30 minutes. Yesterday I got myself a nice small Hawaiian salad from Morrisons with a couple of boiled eggs, it is just about the right size for lunch so I get that out the cupboard and have that followed by a nice cup of tea, although I wish I'd had my Treacle tart after lunch and not before, as the treacle tart had taken the edge of my hunger.

So that was a tasty lunch and now I go for a lie down for 30 minutes, which turns into 45 min,s as I am listening to an interesting debate on Radio solent, anyway after my Lie down I decide that I will make a coffee and then into the lounge to get this Journal written and Posted on my blog, before getting dinner prepared for tonight, I am having a nice piece of Fish tonight as I did Last night but tonight it is a Plaice fillet with Potato,s Cauliflower Cheese sauce and Broccoli, all purchased fresh yesterday from Morrisons.

Dinner prepared

Well that is how my exciting day went today , did not get any Family History research done but it has been a good day, had a laugh and a chat with Gordon, payed the water bill,  read the paper and did the crossword. vegetable is all prepared for dinner this evening and all the washing up done and put away and now I am going to get this journal posted and then settle down to watch Pointless on the TV at 5.15 and dinner goes on at 6.00 ready for 6.30, and then at 7.00 it is an evening of TV, and tomorrow is City centre shopping with Pauline, so until tomorrow I will say Adios.

A Dreamy Sunday.

Hello  again folks and here we are on a dull but dry Sunday morning,  as I do not have a carer come on a Sunday it means I can have a lie in and listen to the morning radio show.  anyway had a good nights sleep last night from about 11.30 through until 7.30 this morning and only woke up once to go to the bathroom, anyway had a weird dream last night about "Cakes" and as I was listening to Herman,s Hermits on the Radio this morning I felt propelled to cartoon it and here is the result.

Anyway back to the realities of life and as one says, all good things must come to an end "Or a start" as the case may be anyway had a Good Night,s sleep last night, A good Tasty Dream, and a good Lie in and to cap it all "I am now Constipated" my own fault really I have not taken my "Lactulose" for two days and I know what will happens it is just sometimes I want a break from the Medicine Regime.

Anyway That is how feel about it but I suppose it is Back to the nightly dose of Lactulose to keep everything moving, however back to today and the weather is at least dry and mild although very dull and at 7.30 when I woke there was a bit of mist around as well, but that seems to have lifted now.

Well Once I was up and in the lounge with the morning coffee I get some porridge for breakfast and then text Pauline, she phones back to say that all is ok and that they are having a bit of a rest today, gordon has got his car fixed with a new radiator so that is ok, anyway he is out with Misty on the common for her morning walk, so after I have spoken with Pauline I check out my emails and facebook and then go round to the Tesco Express to get my Morning Paper and then Back indoors to watch "Sunday Morning Live" a current affairs program with Samira Ahmed

Once the Program hat ended I read the Paper and started the crosswords, along with listening to the radio, Gervase phoned at 11.30 to say that he would be round about 1.30 to 2.00 to take me shopping down Morrisons, so that gives me chance to have a shave and get ready for when he comes but at 12,30 I will get myself some lunch and today I will have some chicken soup for lunch.

Well The Soup went down a treat and now it is 1.15 and time to get a shave and then get ready for when Gervase arrives. Gervase arrives at about 2.00 pm so we get in the car and off down to Morrisons. once there I decide that I will walk round pushing a trolley so that is Ok and will give me some Exercise, although I will probably suffer with aching Thigh Muscles later on , anyway we get the shopping and then we have a drive back along the seafront, it has also just started to rain very lightly . once home we get the shopping put away and I make a coffee and gervase goes out for a bit of a jog as he is taking part in the "Great South Run" at Southsea next Sunday.

Well once Gervase returns He has a shower and then he is off Home to Leanne and I settle down to check out facebook and then I get the Potatoes peeled for dinner tonight, I am going to have a nice Sea Bream Fillet with New Potatoes Tonight, so that will be tasty and then I settle down to watch a disney Cartoon Film on TV. A Yucky Methotrexate after affect Saturday.

Hello again people and it is another very Dull day here in Portsmouth although it is not raining today, but no sunshine so it looks a bit bleak but it is quite mild for this time of the year.

A Restless Night

It was a bit of an indifferent night last night, I took my Methotrexate  after dinner at about 8.00 pm and went to bed at 11.00. didn't get of to sleep until about 12.30 and was awake at 3.30, used the bathroom and then went back to bed tossed and turned with periods of dozing on and off until about 7.00 when I got up and made a coffee, went back to bed until 8.00 when I went into the lounge to watch the news on TV and await Jo my Carer.

It was 9.25 before the carer arrived this Morning, it looks like Jo has gone sick again and It was a new carer today, she was a pleasant enough young lady and soon had me washed and groomed ready for the day ahead, anyway once she had gone I text Pauline and let her know all is Ok and then get some weetabix for breakfast.

Anyway Pauline phones back and lets me Know that all is OK but her and Gordon had a restless night last night so perhaps the changing weather may have something to do with it although I am sure my restless night was more to do with the Methotrexate rather than the weather, anyway have that Freaky Yucky feeling today so will not be doing to much, anyway once I have spoken to Pauline I go and get the Morning Paper and then settle down to check out my emails and Facebook. There were several comments left on a picture and rhyme that I posted on facebook, so for those of you that have not seen it I will put it here.

I did this while I was playing around on the computer last night, I must have been bored, anyway it made a few people smile so that is no bad thing.

Not up to much today so I decided just to rest and watch some movies on TV the first movie I watched was "Cannonball Fever (Speed Zone) I did not think it was as good as 

the earlier cannonball movies but It was enjoyable enough. It was made in 1989 and starring John Candy and Donna Dixon.

The second film I enjoyed better, I had seen it before and enjoyed it then and also enjoyed it today. The film in question is "Stop or my Mom will shoot" this is a 1992 film starring Sylvester Stallone and Estelle Getty.

After that I have been listening to the Soccer Match on the Radio, and writing this journal, Portsmouth are playing at home today at Fratton park and are doing quite well and with 7 minutes left until full time Pompey are winning 2 - 1 against Shrewsbury, and according to the radio there is a good crowd at Fratton Park today.

Well this is about it for today folks, it is approaching 5.00 and it will soon be time to think about dinner, I am cheating tonight as I normally do on the Methotrexate weekend and am having a "Cannelloni" ready meal tonight, so that should be tasty and makes a change from Fish which I had Thursday and Friday. Well the Soccer has finished and the Final score is Pompey 3 Shrewsbury 1 so a good result which is more than I can say about todays Journal as for some reason the type face and size along with the Paragraphs seem to have gone haywire, no idea why, perhaps it is Methotrexate or Prednisolone induced anyway hope you can read it and I will try better tomorrow so until then I will say goodbye.
