Another Saturday is upon us.

Yes folks it is another Saturday. And I must say that I had a pretty good nights sleep last night, Slept from 11.00 to 6.30 so pleased with that "BUT" ( and there is always a but somewhere) I still feel tired due to the combination of tapering the Prednisolone and the Methotrexate on Friday. Still the good news is that it is not Raining. and we only had two short showers yesterday so hopefully the summer has decided to pay a little visit this year.
although there are a lot of "Fluffy" clouds about today there is also Blue sky and Sunshine as shown in the Photograph taken from the live webcam at Portsmouth Harbour at 9.00 this morning.
Portsmouth at 9.00 this Morning.
anyway once I am up, I go and make the coffee and go into the lounge to watch the morning news and to wait for Jo the carer to arrive. Jo gets here about 8.40 and soon has me washed  and Groomed and then it is time to text pauline and then settle down with the Laptop to check out Facebook and also my e-mails.

Well I do not know where the time has gone this morning, I have checked Facebook and e-mails, done an illustration for "Scleroderma Awareness Month" and got dressed and it is now 11.00. I am settling down to watch the trooping of the colour which is being shown live on the TV. The trooping of the Colour and the Parade is to mark the Official Birthday of HRH Queen Elizabeth. The Photograph below shows the Queen arriving in the "Glass Coach"

This next Photograph shows the Queen Inspecting the troops to the sound of the Music being played by the Guards Band.

Well there we are then this goes on now until 1.00 pm when it concludes with a Royal Air Force flypast. it is certainly a very historic pageant and well worth watching but I will not
bore you with it any longer.

Example from Archive
Collection of Books.
Well it is now approaching 1.00 pm and time for some lunch I think. The Trooping of the Colour is just finishing so I am, going to have a small "Salmon Fillet" in Butter with a couple of crisp breads and a nice cup of tea and then I will see what is on the TV this afternoon, if there is no decent films on I will spend some time sorting out my Family History archive, I have so many Photograph,s Certificates. Books etc that it needs a good sort out and tidying up, it is surprising how much you accumulate over a short period of time.

One thing that has come to my attention today is that  the "Queens Birthday Honors List" has been issued. and again I cannot find my name on it, Oh well Perhaps next year LOL.

Mike
Paul
I Enjoyed my Lunch and it was very tasty. so now I feel that I need a lie down, all this facebook, Eating and Journal writing is very tiring. Had a bit of a lie down and then the Phone rang. It was my Cousin Mike from Fareham to Say that his son Paul had come down to see him today and that they were down Portsmouth and would it be OK t come round and see me, that was a nice surprise so they arrived and stayed about 1.5 Hours. We had a nice chat and a coffee and then about 4.00 they made there way back home to Fareham. and I expect Paul will be making his way back to his home in Kent
later on.

That has been an excellent afternoon and I really enjoyed it, so now I need to get my Butt in gear and get this Journal written . The Torch relay is now on Day 29 and is going from Gateshead to Durham and by the looks of it it is not very nice weather in the north today.
The First Photo today is showing Richard Jackson abseiling down the side of the "Sage music Centre" with the Torch and with the Tyne Bridge in the Background
At the Tyne bridge
The next Photo shows the crowd gathered under the "Angel of the North" in Low Fell as the torch is carried past by Iris Hutchinson
Going Past the "Angel of the North"
Well that is about it for the day today. It is now time to think about getting the Potatoes and Cauliflower into the steamer and start getting dinner cooked, I am going to have Roast chicken and new potato tonight with a home made cauliflower cheese so if I get it started now it should be ready by 6.15. as it is now 5.00 O'Clock..
The weather has kept fine today but very cloudy this afternoon and a strong wind is starting to build up with Gusts expected up to 46 MPH, Here is portsmouth at 5.00 this evening.
Portsmouth Harbour at 5.00 pm this evening.
so I will get this Journal Posted and then Settle down for an evening of Television so will say Goodbye until tomorrow and leave you with Todays "Day in History" for 1890.

  1. Thanks for all the rain, it came straight over here!
I am not on that list either and I didn't win the $50,000,000 lotto, but neither was I struck by lightning.
I always get hungry reading your blog!
